Mellanox Technologies is seeking an experienced Solutions Engineer. As a representative of Mellanox, you will be responsible for driving our technology with enterprise & data center customers working within our Business Development team.
As Solutions Engineer, you'll be responsible for driving our end-to-end technology solutions with leading web2.0, cloud, and enterprise datacenter customers. This role requires is a results-oriented team performer with the motivation and skill to drive the technical pre-sales process.
Some key responsibilities include building and delivering custom-tailored product demonstrations based on critical business issue, responding to RFP/RFI proposals, delivering roadmap presentations, and offering recommendations on digital and social strategy. You will be responsible for coordinating with multiple parties — internal departments as well as the customer — to ensure timely and satisfactory resolution to technical issues, and completion of projects.
As part of our Business Development Team, a Solutions Engineer is responsible for driving Mellanox sales to data center & enterprise customers. Mellanox Solutions Engineers define the opportunities, work closely with the Sales and R&D teams to make our customers dreams a reality. Candidates must have strong sense of achievement, customer focused attitude and hands-on expertise:
Pre-sales activities: identifying technical needs and new opportunities for existing Mellanox products and new designs through customer meetings
Driving proof-of-concept engagement, including network designs and hands-on work with customers during product evaluations
Managing complete product delivery life cycle: definition, design reviews, evaluations, deployments into production and handing it over to customer support team
Coordination of efforts with R&D and product marketing for new features and products
Provide feedback to product management and engineering
Preparing and delivering technical training/presentations
Keep up-to-date on competitive solutions, products, and services
Author whitepapers on technology and products, design guidelines and recommendations
The ideal candidate will have 5+ years of Enterprise Systems/Sales Engineering experience and background in:
Datacenter engineering, networking, or cloud application software development
Extensive knowledge of server systems, including Linux operating systems, drivers, virtualization, NICs, firmware tools, PCIe, x86 and ARM hardware
Deep networking experience, including solid knowledge of L2/3 Ethernet/Networking protocols
Expert knowledge in the following areas: Ethernet switches, RSTP/ MSTP, VLANs, IP Routing, TCP/IP, OSPF, BGP, Multicast, QoS
Knowledge of telco industry is a plus
Technical presentations skills and ability to write white-papers
Knowledge of competitive products, solutions, and services
BSEE/CS/CE or equivalent technical degree required
Ability to travel up to 20%
