The Groupon Multimedia Services team provides support, expertise, planning and execution for a wide array of meetings and events around the world. From helping a presenter get their powerpoint on screen to producing all-hands streams viewed by Groupon employees around the globe, the team enables clear and effective communications with industry leading technology and excellent customer service.

When a distributed team meets to collaborate, a business unit conducts a periodic status update, engineering sponsors a world-wide hackathon, or someone needs content captured and distributed, our team is responsible for the technology, execution, and support.

If you get excited about things like Cisco Telepresence, Kaltura and Akamai streaming in flash and HTML5, arcane camera stats like dynamic range, Final Cut and Adobe Creative Suite, we might be a good fit for you.

The Multimedia Technician – Video Specialist provides independent coordination, end-user support and training for meetings and events large and small and is responsible for establishing the standards for events and ensuring that execution meets those standards.

They may produce or coordinate the production of recordings, VOD, and live streams with a wide variety of equipment as required by various business units within the company.

They are also responsible for ensuring the proper install and maintenance of audio and video hardware and software.

Troubleshooting, upgrades, and configuration changes are also part of their portfolio as well as coordination with other departments, vendors, contractors, and third party support representatives for escalations.

This role is based out of our Chicago office but provides support to offices around the globe. Occasional events will require support outside of normal business hours. Light travel is expected.

Multimedia Technicians should be motivated to provide excellent customer service and support. Top notch troubleshooting methodology with the ability to perform in time sensitive situations is a must.

Flash Media Live Encoder, Wirecast or similar hardware or software encoders

Video Portals (Youtube, Vimeo, Kaltura, etc)

Cisco Telepresence endpoints and infrastructure

Cisco Jabber and similar desktop video clients

Webex or similar products

PC and Mac computers

Microsoft Powerpoint and Google Slides

Audio and Video Recording Equipment

Matrix Switchers, Mixers, Encoders

Amps and Digital Signal Processors
