As a Business Development Manager (BDM), you’d focus on building new relationships and partner with businesses to craft unique marketing campaigns that help increase exposure and customer traffic.
Focusing on purely new business, this person will have discretion when it comes to negotiating complex deals, involving deal structure, margin, caps, and other critical contract terms. You will also work with a Merchant Development Manager who will collaborate with the merchant post-close, and develop the relationship with the merchant so that they remain a Groupon client.
Develop and close new business opportunities through established networks, relationships, independent research, and the lead management pipeline to expand the range of offers to our subscribers
Facilitate the growth of revenue by contacting and closing merchants who have not done business with Groupon with high quality.
Utilize knowledge of deal structure and strategy in order to reach merchant's desired outcomes and maximize profit
Interface with Merchant Development to ensure a seamless transition of accounts and align on strategy
Knowledge & Skill Requirements:
2+ years of proven success in a sales environment
Experience selling over the phone and cold calling various types of businesses, local merchants a plus
Demonstrate high degrees of diligence and accountability, with evidence of personal results
A balance of coachability and confidence that makes people jealous at how great of a person you are
Hunting skills so honed, Bear Grylls would be jealous
Comfortable in a competitive environment, with evidence of personal ambition to improve
Abnormally strong negotiation and consultation skills
Captive learner and hard worker, excited about the opportunity to develop consultative sales skills
Must speak Dutch (English and advantage)
