Groupon Getaways is looking for a Strategic business development manager to join the Groupon Getaways team in Spain.

Reporting into the Regional Director, you will be responsible for proactively sourcing and developing new business opportunities with accommodation providers, hotel chains and airlines from within your given region or country. With a best in class network from within the travel industry, and through a consultative sales approach, you will articulate Groupon’s unique sales and marketing proposition from a travel perspective, cultivating strong and sustainable partnerships.

Main Responsabilities

Proactively source, pitch and close high value deals that feature on Groupon Getaways platform and newsletters, continually expanding the range of travel offers for our subscribers
Present Groupon as the unique distribution channel for hotel rooms, overnight stays and packaged travel
Achieve and exceed weekly and monthly targets
Be a Groupon Getaways brand ambassador
Ownership of the supply and coverage of features from your specified region or country
Prospect and develop a rich and varied pipeline of campaigns to fulfil demand across EMEA
Create bespoke campaigns for leading chains and groups throughout the territory
Assist Strategic Accounts team in chain and pan European wide contracting
Construct and negotiate best in class offers that delight our customers and benefit our merchants
Work closely with the Account Management teams to ensure merchants receive industry leading support and care
Ensure all contract related tasks are completed correctly and first time right
Solicit ad hoc promotions from branded and prestigious suppliers to support marketing and merchandising initiatives
Work with revenue managers to ensure maximum exposure for your properties and campaigns
Engage in face to face sales meetings where necessary
Take part in product familiarisation visits and site inspections
Attend industry trade shows
Skills & Experience

Immediate network of Travel related contacts
Knowledge of the hotel distribution landscape and an understanding of digital distribution in particular, including channel managers, CRS providers and extranets
High degree of knowledge of the travel landscape at the moment with a grasp on trends and issues impacting the industry
Highly organised and plans and prioritises work effectively
A history of consistently hitting targets and KPI’s
Demonstrable commercial acumen
Experience in canvassing and cold-calling into various types of travel businesses, with evidence of consistent and current success
Be a persuader and influencer with both external and internal stakeholders
Demonstrates an entrepreneurial spirit in the approach to work
Strong relationship builder, has a positive attitude and is a team player
Knowledge of Sales Force CRM tools and systems a bonus
Highly driven, is self-motivated, target orientated, resilient and tenacious
Has a flexible approach, thrives under pressure and enjoys working in a fast paced environment
