Groupon is seeking a tenacious, self-starting Acquisition & Retention, Analytics Manager to join our Global Customer Acquisition & Retention team. The Global Customer Acquisition & Retention team is responsible for growing and maintaining Groupon’s customer base. The Analytics Manager is responsible for analyzing customers and customer marketing programs that will drive positive Return on Investment (ROI), generate incremental revenue, reduce attrition, increase activation and Customer Lifetime Value (CLV). This position is analytically focused and data intensive. The ideal candidate will be comfortable with big data analysis and quantitative marketing, have a strong understanding of customer behavior, and be able to present complex insights in a clear and concise format to senior management.

Translate raw data into actionable insights – pulling together presentation ready decks with data-driven, effective recommendations to drive revenue, increase retention, reduce attrition, activate dormant customers, and improve existing programs. You must be comfortable presenting to peers and executives alike.

Mine large sets of data from Groupon’s data warehouse using SQL for analyses such as efficacy of marketing campaigns, cross-channel subscription, incremental revenue and incremental Customer Lifetime Value (CLV), and other analyses that lead to actionable business insights.

Perform ad-hoc deep-dive customer & campaign analyses including engagement, purchase behavior, email marketing, offline marketing, display ad retargeting, and any other channels.

Support and assist marketing managers with segmentation and campaign reporting where needed. Investigate & resolve data issues encountered by the team.

Work with BI team to create automated and adhoc dashboards and reports (Tableau and Google Sheets)

Propose and support testing strategies to further optimize marketing programs across all channels.


Bachelor's degree in Business, Finance, Accounting or Quantitative Field

4+ years of relevant work experience with a heavy emphasis on data analysis and customer marketing

Strong communication and relationship building skills, with the ability to interpret and summarize data to help achieve strategic and operational goals

‘Builder’ mentality – identifies problems quickly and is eager to build solutions from scratch, not just improve on others work.

Comfortable with a fast-paced, always-on, start-up environment

Must have great analytical skills, strong business judgment and be an excellent project manager and prioritizer

Proven ability to extract meaningful and actionable insight from large, disparate datasets

Advanced SQL, Google Sheets, MSFT Excel, Tableau
