Job Description / Skills Required

Our team is looking for experienced DevOps engineers to join us. Our group is diverse and tight knit. We use open source tools build AWS environments and deploy web services like GoPro Plus that serve millions of GoPro customers.

We use tools like Ubuntu Linux, Amazon AMI, Docker, Puppet, Terraform, Hashicorp Vault & Consul, Jenkins, Nagios/OMD, InfluxDB w/ Grafana, PostgreSQL, and Nginx. We automate in Python, Ruby, and bash.

DevOps here at GoPro means between 30% to 70% Dev / Ops mixed role. Focus on backend software engineering, data processing, application architecture for SOA, APIs, internal tools, SQL / DBA, etc. on the developer side. On the Ops side, we focus on Linux configuration management, cloud automation, infrastructure as code, virtualization and containers, network engineering, security, database architecture, continuous integration, network filesystems, and web scale production infrastructure.

We use agile sprint models to support several dev teams that build web services and front-end components. We actively iterate our processes with input from the team. We also run our own projects related to infrastructure, automation, monitoring, continuous integration and internal tools. We're a services organization with a service oriented mindset. Our job is to increase dev velocity and ensure stable and secure production systems.

What You Will Do:

Work with development teams to build and maintain cloud environments to specifications developed closely with multiple teams;
Support the deployment of applications into those environments;
Design new environments and architectures;
Automate everything;
Build proactive monitoring and alerting tools;
Provide standards, documentation, and coaching to developers;
Participate in on-call rotations.

Skills We’re Stoked About:

3+ years of experience in DevOps including automated system configuration, application deployment, and infrastructure-as-code;
Advanced Linux system administration abilities;
Real-world experience managing significant AWS environments (20+ instances, HA, production workloads). Multi-account management a plus;
Experience with managing production environments on AWS or another cloud PaaS;
Solid hands on skills with at least roughly 50% / 75% (Senior Role) of the following technologies: Apache, Nginx, Elasticache (Redis), ElasticSearch/ELK, Hadoop, Docker, RDS (PostGreSQL), EC2/ECS, S3, CloudFront, ECS, NFS, AWS SDKs & CLI Tools, Ruby, Python, Bash, Jenkins, Git, DNS, HTTP Headers,HTTP Caching, SSL, RESTful APIs, MySQL, PostgreSQL, Nagios/OMD, Terraform, CloudFormation, New Relic, Telegraf/InfluxDB/Grafana, Puppet, Ansible;
Experience working as a developer on front-end or back-end projects is a big plus.
