GoPro is looking for an experienced and talented candidate for the role of Senior Technical Program Manager in our Bucharest software development office. This position is responsible for driving the delivery of multiple software offerings, as well as working closely with other managers across international locations in Development, QA, Product Management, UX and Operations to refine, define, and employ best-of-class software development processes. We need software development professionals with a keen interest in developing world-class process that serve our customers and our teams; leaders with an extensive toolkit of best practices across multiple methodologies are ideal.
What You Will Do
Coordinate release planning across Product Management, UX, Development, QA, and Developer Operations to create schedules and project plans that will deliver high-quality products with high confidence in delivery date.
Drive Core Teams, managers, tech leads, and other cross-functional leads to identify and unblock issues, track and resolve cross-team dependencies, to repeatedly deliver quality software products on time and with a high level of quality.
Work with team leads, developers, QA engineers, and others to ensure that hand-offs between teams are transferred with clear responsibilities, ownership, and delivery expectations.
Act as the development safety-net for all our cross-functional teams: identifying and owning all new problems and roadblocks across teams as they arise, and triaging each issue appropriately until the proper new owner is identified.
Ensure continuous, informed and transparent status updates of ongoing initiatives across the organization.
Working with the Director of Program Management and other Program Managers to research, advise, define, create, and successfully roll out new and updated processes to best-fit our teams and business needs.
Skills We’re Stoked About
10+ years of work experience in software development with a proven history of delivering new, consumer-facing software products to market.
Strong leadership experience in offshore location work and coordinating efforts across multiple timezones and locations.
Strong experience in all aspects of software product development lifecycles and processes, spanning both traditional waterfall methods and deep understanding of modern agile practices with a specific focus on leading Scrum Teams
Strong technical background with building large-scale software applications/ platforms
Expertise in communicating with users, first and second-party technical teams, and senior/executive management to collect requirements, evaluate alternatives, and develop processes and tools as needed to support the organization.
Experience in both high-maturity software models (as in large companies) and in evolving-process software models (as in startups) is strongly preferred.
Ability to communicate effectively with both technical and non-technical individuals.
Excellent local and English written and spoken communication skills
Track record for being detail-oriented with a demonstrated ability to bootstrap new initiatives with minimal guidance, self-motivate and follow-through on resulting projects.
