Mellanox Technologies is seeking an innovative and experienced Senior/Staff Datacenter Software Architect for an exciting position in the Software CTO office. The CTO office team focuses on providing the world’s most advanced solutions for the modern data center: High Performance Computing, Hyper scale, Big Data, Cloud, SW Defined Network, Network Function Virtualization and more.
The Senior/Staff Datacenter Software Architect will play a critical role in representing the company in various standard bodies and open source communities such as ONF, Open Switch, Open Compute Project (OCP), SONiC, SAI and others as needed. You will use your intimate knowledge of network protocols, deployment scenarios and data center market segments, together with deep understanding of Mellanox hardware and software building blocks and end-to-end solutions to drive field input back to the Architecture, Marketing and Design teams. In addition, you will contribute to the switch architecture team by producing relevant white papers, and patents.
Primary challenges of this role are:
Engaging with the key people in the open network OS industry and push Mellanox Spectrum Ethernet switch to be the best vehicle for those platforms
Finding creative ways to solve hardware deviances between various vendors in a common open API layer and drive the definitions to the community
Influencing the Mellanox switch software Plan-Of-Record for future releases by reflecting customer driven feature priorities and release feature breakdowns
B.Sc. with distinction in Computer Engineering, Computer Science or Electrical Engineering
Minimum 5+ years' experience in embedded software development; 10+ years' experience preferred
Minimum 3+ years’ experience in IP networking software architecture with protocols such as BGP, OSPF, MPLS, ISIS PIM, Spanning Tree, MLAG, STP, SDN, Open Flow, Layer 2-7 networking; 6+ years' experience preferred
Experience in working effectively with Open Source communities
