Mellanox Technologies, a leading supplier of end-to-end InfiniBand and Ethernet interconnect solutions is looking for a highly qualified Senior Optoelectronics Engineer to join our team at our Monterey Park, CA office. The Senior Optoelectronics Engineer will contribute to the design, development and documentation of 100G and higher bit rate optical components, modules, and subsystems. The right candidate will participate and influence the design of modules and sub-assemblies, including modeling and simulation. This position requires knowledge of Opto-electronic packaging principals, including thermal and stress simulations.
Work with a team on the design and development of optical modules and sub-assemblies for 100G and higher data rates
Mechanical design for optical receiver and transmitter packaging
Precision tooling/fixture for optical packaging assembly and testing.
Material evaluation and characterization, including epoxies and solders
Perform thermal, mechanical simulations including tolerance stack-up analysis.
Coordination of efforts across a multi-disciplinary group
Participate with integration projects involving different technology platforms and functionalities
MSME or EE degree with a minimum of five years of industrial experience in fiber-optic transceiver development or similar background
Experience with RF and thermal device design and characterization
Proficient in SolidWorks and simulation of Stress, Thermal, RF
Experience with assembly processes and technologies for optical device packaging
Familiar with reliability issues and qualification of active optoelectronic devices
Experience in advanced packaging concepts including Flip Chip, Pillars and Multi-Chip Modules a plus
