This is a leadership role overseeing accounting activities of the newly created European Centre of Excellence (ECOE) for EMEA based in Poland. Key activities of the ECOE include coordinating the regional close process across the different main regional hubs located in UK, Italy, Spain, France and Germany. Further activities include managing the accounting of specific General ledger accounts across all EMEA legal entities. Whilst most of the operating legal entities are managed out of the regional hubs, the ECOE will be responsible for all USGAAP and Statutory Financials of approximately 15 non-operating legal entities. Managing a team of 6, the role reports into the EMEA Controller. The role is based in Warsaw.


Supervise and coordinate the general ledger, month-end close and internal reporting process
Monitor and analyze monthly / quarterly operating results for EMEA region
Ensure appropriate preparation for external audits, internal audits and tax compliance reporting (direct and indirect)
Respond to inquiries from internal stakeholders regarding the financial results, special reporting requests
Assist in regional projects which require accounting and finance process knowledge and development
Develop, perform and maintain internal controls for financially significant processes ensuring SOX compliance
Liaise with accounting systems team on development of new system features to ensure the design meets accounting needs
Collaborate with Regional Controllers across the region and co-ordinate central activities
Supervising the daily bookings and ongoing tasks and activities of the local accounting department
Maintain proper accounting for US GAAP and local stat including monthly reconciliations for US GAAP and local accounting
Support Intercompany Team develop and execute best practices
Reviewing EMEA cash aggregation activities
Overseeing tax related tasks and issues (VAT, CIT, WHT)
Preparation of statutory financial statements and corporate reports
Liaising with external and internal auditors in order to manage audit activities
Leading special projects and implementations aimed at improving operating efficiencies
Managing the team of 6 and facilitate career development and growth for the team

Higher degree in Finance
CPA, CIMA, ACCA or equivalent
US GAAP knowledge, IFRS (as an asset)
At least 10 years’ experience in team management in a Finance & Accounting area in international environments
Financial Shared Service Centre experience
eCommerce Industry experience beneficial
Experience in matrix structured work
Communicative, initiative and empathetic personality

High organizational skills
Ability to work with a team and motivate employees to take action
Focused on development and goal oriented
Proficient in Microsoft Excel
Proficient in English, other European languages a plus
Knowledge of Netsuite a plus
