This position based out of Dublin office will be part of our global Marketing Analytics team supporting Groupon’s EMEA Marketing efforts. The successful candidate will be responsible for understanding, measuring, testing and reporting on the fundamental success factors that drive our drive Marketing success in the EMEA region.
The right candidate will possess a strong combination of analytical prowess, technical aptitude, and business savvy. Typical responsibilities include:
Creating ad-hoc analysis and reports
Work with engineering and central product teams to build world-class in-house tool-kits to automate reporting
Hands-on analysis and manipulation of data to continuously improve conversion and ROI
Create & Maintain ETL scripts
Aggregating, organizing, and making sense of large amounts of data, reporting the goals and reconciliation to targets
Grow and maintain reporting infrastructure, including performance tracking and forecasting
Proactive communication of reporting, analysis and insights for all related job functions
Document processes around Data Engineering
Bachelor's degree (Engineering, Computer Science preferred)
5 – 8 years of experience and end-to-end knowledge of data warehousing and BI systems (includes reporting, data modeling, ETL architectures and OLAP). Expert SQL skills.
Have strong work experience in reporting tools like Tableau, MicroStrategy, Cognos or similar tools
Experience designing and implementing dimensional data models
Ability to quickly understand business requirements and transform them into data models
Excellent communication skills and ability to interact with all levels of end users and technical teams
Advanced SQL skills in large database systems (in TBs)
Skills in NoSQL technologies, Hadoop, Hive, Spark etc.
Expertise with building and managing ETL scripts
Experience with Python, SSH or other scripting
Ability to identify key needs or gaps, and provide leadership to close those gaps
