GoPro is looking for a top tier candidate for the Hardware Engineer role in a growing team. The position will participate in the electrical hardware development of new and derivative advanced accessory products. The Hardware Engineer will work with cross-functional teams, our partners and suppliers to validate the selected solutions. They will also help define components and collaborate with internal teams to verify the selected solution supports product requirements. The ideal candidate will have strong interpersonal and communication skills.

What You Will Do

Participate in technical discussions related to electrical hardware requirements
Collaborate with the cross-functional teams such as mechanical, firmware, product, marketing, document control and program management to drive product design
Develop and validate prototypes to prove out technologies
Create schematic designs for accessory hardware and release electrical BOMs into a PLM system
Develop test plans to validate and characterize designs
Develop manufacturing test requirements for partner CMs
Travel to partner CM sites to conduct board bring-up and to troubleshoot on-site assembly issues for engineering builds
Work with CMs to test, characterize and conduct failure analysis of finished products
Support internal teams to troubleshoot issues throughout a product life-cycle
Support the quality organization to fix field return issues

Skills We're Stoked About

Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical Engineering
At least 4 years of experience in electrical hardware development
Experience in hardware product development within an organization developing consumer electronic products and portable devices
Working knowledge of OrCAD and Allegro Viewer
Familiar with the design process from concept through board development and system integration
Experience in various digital bus architectures and interface such as I2C, USB, I2S, UART, SPI, MIPI, DDR, and LVDS signals
Experience in high-speed image sensor design and LCM integration
Experience in low power design, power conversion, and battery management
Experience in any of motor control, mechatronics and sensor systems
Experience in any of consumer wireless design such as Bluetooth, Wi-Fi, GPS, and RF antenna
Experience in Signal Integrity, Power Analysis using industry standard simulation tools
Familiar with EMI/EMC/ESD compliance and certifications such as CE and FCC
Proven ability in root cause analysis, complex design debugging, and problem solving with engineering test equipment
Strong interpersonal and communication skills and proven ability to work with external development partners
Ability to travel (domestically and internationally)
