The Digital Media Manager drives the vision, strategy and execution (in line with global strategy) for Advertising and Social Media activities related to GoPro’s prioritizes in the APAC region. APAC region covers Australia, New Zealand, China, Japan, South Korea, SE Asia and India. This role will be based in either Melbourne or Shanghai.
The Digital Media Manager drives advertising strategy, production and execution across digital (SEM, display, paid social, paid video, programmatic and retargeting), ATL (print, OOH, TV / OTT, cinema) and social media channels (owned and earned) including social publishing, social activations, community management, influencer management and reporting.
Lead the media agency and optimize content programming process (aggregation, recognition, scheduling)
Provide local market insight and knowledge to global advertising team to help facilitate budget planning and media partner suggestions incl but not limited to omni channel, search, ecommerce partnership strategy
Manage the APAC relationship with agency teams; deliver briefs, budgets and direction, ultimately approving and owning the final regional digital plan
Manage quarterly advertising budgets and execute to plan
Working with internal creative teams, own the process for localization and optimization of assets across all APAC digital campaigns to drive Seasonal/ Product stories
Partner with eCommerce teams to define the APAC .com content strategy
Constantly increase expertise in digital media and ability to teach others in a workshop environment
Analyze data & trends to provide locally relevant insights on a regular basis, and develop best practices to increase purchase funnel metrics
Develop, test and QA marketing innovation across our online channels
Plan and execute social media initiatives for APAC in line with the global social media / communication strategy
Manage social media programming, community management, & reporting tasks for APAC countries
Manage local social media managers in China, Japan and South Korea
Foster community engagement and growth
Manage and execute social activations and campaigns
Manage video channels and video programming – incl Tencent, Youku, iQiyi and Miaopai
Work with other departments and support with social media communication of core, priority company initiatives
On-site event activation for selected events
Manage content programming process (aggregation, recognition, scheduling)
Act as primary point of contact for online partnerships, influencer & marketing activations in APAC
Constantly increase expertise in social media and ability to teach others in a workshop environment
An agile cross-functional team leader who is comfortable working within a with a fast-paced environment
5+ years’ experience of building and executing multi-channel digital marketing plans at globally recognized brands that complement GoPro
Experience planning and buying digital media to achieve brand awareness and sales objectives
Extensive cross-channel digital planning and buying experience including digital video, display, paid social and search
Agency relationship management, from briefing to plan execution
Strong local market knowledge and ability to provide digital partner recommendations for China, Japan, Korea, Australia, SE Asia and India
Proven experience planning and buying programmatic digital media
Digital landscape expertise and experience working with industry leading tools for attribution, brand lift measurement, ad serving, viewability and reporting
Must be strategic, creative, organized, and be able to clearly communicate how plans will deliver on overall marketing goals
3-5 years of experience with strong knowledge of the major global and regional Social Media platforms
Self-motivated, creative, collaborative and interested in emerging trends
Highly motivated individual who is capable of working in the details while ensuring the overall program is on strategy
Capable of managing and completing multiple projects and priorities at the same time within a rapidly changing environment
Bilingual (English + Cantonese + ideally additional: Japanese)
Willing and able to travel
Based in Melbourne or Shanghai
Excellent communication skills: written, spoken, & listening in multiple languages
