Do you have a deep understanding of IT security practices such as intrusion prevention, vulnerability management, and server hardening? Do you understand cloud operating environments like IaaS and PaaS? Do you enjoy working with customers, speaking at conferences, and evangelizing products?
CloudPassage is looking for someone who thoroughly understands cloud security and also loves to communicate with and educate people. In this role, a typical week might include:
Speaking at a conference on cloud security
Conducting a two-hour whiteboard session with an important Fortune 500 prospect
Writing a blog about how our product could have prevented the latest data breach
Helping a salesperson understand how our product compares to another vendor’s product
Training a sales engineer how to give a product demo
Working with marketing managers to figure out the best way to highlight our newest capability at a trade show
Writing a technical brief that explains how our product works in a hybrid cloud environment
Analyzing security market and competitive trends
Installing another vendor’s cloud security product to see what it can do
This role is similar to one that is sometimes called “evangelist” or “principal technologist” or “solutions architect”.
Technically expert in some if not all of the following technology domains: IT security, cloud infrastructure-as-a-service, DevOps.
Demonstrated successful experience in sales engineering OR solution architect OR technical marketing roles for enterprise software.
Knowledge of modern IT and security design patterns, technologies, and tooling (e.g., AWS, Azure, Puppet, Jenkins, Docker).
Able to learn about new technologies and products on your own.
Articulate and comfortable presenting to an audience. You can tailor your conversation to the interests and technical level of the person you are talking with.
Able to create and deliver a product demonstration.
Engineering or computer science degree, or equivalent work experience.
