This role will support the accounting activities of the newly created European Centre of Excellence (ECOE) for EMEA based in Poland. Key activities of the ECOE include coordinating the regional close process across the different main regional hubs located in UK, Italy, Spain, France and Germany. Further activities include managing the accounting of specific General ledger accounts across all EMEA legal entities. Whilst most of the operating legal entities are managed out of the regional hubs, the ECOE will be responsible for all USGAAP and Statutory Financials of approximately 15 non-operating legal entities. The role reports into the Accounting Manager and is based in Warsaw.

Your Responsibilities:

Supervise, track and evaluate day-to-day activities for junior team members in order to report timely and accurately

Play a key role in the month end close process by reviewing and approving journal entries and managing various asset and liability reconciliations

Provide quarterly US GAAP reporting for disclosures to the US through the reporting package

Co-ordinate accounting activities with outsourcing providers

Preparing and analyzing reporting packages and fluctuation analysis

Coordinate and help to complete annual audits both external and internal

Monitor tax compliance and accuracy of information reported to Tax Team

Monitor statistical reporting

Assist Accounting Manager with Sarbanes Oxley procedures by monitoring compliance with internal controls

Support special projects (e.g. entity liquidation) and implementations aimed at improving operating efficiencies
Your Profile:

Education

Bachelor degree in Finance/Economics
US GAAP knowledge, IFRS (as an asset)
Work Experience

German statutory financial statements knowledge
At least 6 years experience in total including at least 4 years in GL accounting from an international environment
Financial Shared Service Centre experience
Experience in matrix structured work
