What You Will Be Doing
The Shipping & Receiving Coordinator is responsible for preparing documentation, maintains records, and coordinates logistics for inbound and outbound shipments. Assist requesters with general shipping and mail needs, orders shipping supplies, audit and reconciles packages slips verses product to ensure accuracy.
Prepares documentation, maintains records, and coordinates logistics for product shipment.
Leads communications within the Shipping/Receiving area. Schedules and Coordinates both Domestic and International freight forwarder transactions.
Ensures freight forwarders are selected based on company objectives for cost and delivery.
Maintains Shipping records, including providing tracking or shipping history information to customers on request.
Prepares Shipping paperwork as well as completes shipping transaction in appropriate systems.
Prepare boxes with appropriate labels for shipment as required.
Provide guidance to others within the Shipping/Receiving area.
Communicates status of Shipping/Receiving activities to appropriate personnel. May train new hires.
Generate shipping output documents as required.
Generate customer invoicing upon shipping. Audit waiting-to-ship reports daily to ensure all invoicing is completed.
Coordinate the shipping of freight by contacting appropriate freight carriers.
Communicate shipping volumes and priorities closely with the Warehouse manager to optimize available resources.
Shop rates for prepaid shipments to ensure that we are getting the best possible freight rates.
Respond to billing questions from external freight payment services.
Formally document new or changed procedures. Identify who requires training and execute training if needed.
Maintain knowledge of current international import/export regulatory requirements. Update applicable standard operating procedures as necessary.
Participation in transportation-related project teams.
Effectively lead cross-functional root cause and corrective action to resolve customer-related shipping issues.
BA/BS or equivalent experience
At least 3+ years of shipping & receiving coordination experience.
Experienced with inventory control and shipping & receiving protocols.
Experienced in data entry and analyzing information give by requesters to successfully complete production order request.
Must have a good driving record, U.S driver’s license and certified forklift driver.
Must be self-motivated and highly customer-centric.
Proven ability to work in a fast-paced, ever changing, and high volume department.
A creative thinker with a proven track record of getting tasks completed.
Good communication skills, with the ability to talk to management and customers.
