The Product Quality Engineer will be a part of the Global Product Quality Engineering team. S/he will be engaged throughout the product development life cycle and will collaborate with a cross functional product development team to define product validation and test requirements, limits, methods and criteria towards delivery of world class product quality. The candidate will establish product HW / mechanical design and performance validation testing requirements and performance criteria ensuring that product is worthy of release for mass production. S/he will facilitate design failure analyses, collect relevant data from tests performed during development phases, analyze data and ensure that issues are addressed and makes recommendations towards product release and post release product improvements. 
The ideal candidate will be able to manage a number of high priority activities including interacting with and providing direction to contract manufacturers based in Asia Pacific, leading and facilitating resolution of product quality issues among internal team and suppliers and manufacturing partners. Candidate will travel to Asia Pacific to facilitate and manage the validation, performance and reliability test processes and ensure process effectiveness and compliance by the CM’s and Suppliers. S/he is able to develop and present management reports highlighting product status and actions at various stages and with various audience including executive leadership.
What You Will Do
Represent PQE throughout the Product development life cycle and post product launch to mass market
Create, define and implement product reliability, durability and performance test requirements in collaboration with cross functional teams
Recommend product’s readiness for release to the next stages of product development life cycle and ultimately for mass production
Work independently and with project team members globally to develop and deliver Product Risk Analysis (DFMEA), facilitate Product Quality Plans (PQP / APQP), perform manufacturing assessment and qualification, support development of inspection documentation and test methods as they will impact product quality and performance
Utilize quality engineering tools and techniques including but not limited to six sigma tools, statistical analysis, DOE, Design for Reliability, etc. to enhance product reliability and durability
Drive closure of product reliability / durability / performance issues through JIRA / Confluence issue management systems. Ensure the effectiveness of the corrective action through regression testing or additional testing to improve confidence
Participate in post product launch efforts and early field failure analysis to perform failure analysis, establish root cause and implement corrective and preventive actions to preclude recurrence
Support implementation of closed loop system on product related issues as data are collected and reported via social media and customer support teams
Perform final product release activities in accordance with established procedures and production schedules
Drive respective teams responsible for issues until a decision or solution is reached
Meet company and departmental goals in the continuous improvement of all products, services and processes 
Skills We’re Stoked About
Ability & willingness to travel to APAC region as required to work with design and manufacturing partners
BSEE a must, MSEE preferred
Six sigma black / green belt experience and exposure is highly desirable
3-7 years’ experience in consumer electronics or relevant industries / environment 
1-2 years’ experience in new product introduction environment within ODM / JDM or Contract Manufacturing environment
Excellent computer skills including, but not limited to: Windows, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Visio, MS Project 
Excellent communication skills both written and verbal
ISO quality system knowledge and requirements
Previous knowledge or experience with electrical design tools
Exposure and working knowledge on key commodities such as LCD’s, Batteries, Plastics, Machined parts
Exposure to Optical systems, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth technologies
Effective presentation, project and resource management skills
Demonstrated problem solving and root cause analysis skills
