What You Will Do
The GCD reports to the Head of GoPro Studio and will act as the managing director with fiscal responsibility of a large global creative team to promote, evolve and elevate the GoPro Brand. These teams include; Digital, Packaging, Advertising, Copy, and Retail. The GCD will be responsible and passionate about the cultivation and the career development of their staff. This individual is a design master, magnificent mediator, highly-skilled multi-tasker and brilliant people manager.
Manage the creative process from concept to completion
Oversee all pitches and proposals
Translate marketing objectives into clear creative strategies
Work cross functionally with integrated marketing, sales, e-comm, channel marketing and consumer insight teams
Lead and direct the creative team in the production of all marketing collateral
Work closely with multidisciplinary project teams including; advertising, copy, digital, print, packaging, photo, video and retail
Ensure visual communication and brand standards are met and cohesive
Oversee profitability, deliverables, timelines and budgets. Establish and meet KPI’s clearly demonstrating return on investment.
Meet with upper management to explain campaign strategies and solutions
Review work, troubleshoot and provide effective feedback to creative teams
Remain actively involved in hiring and training creative staff
Manage and cultivate the career development of staff members, including designers, art directors, copywriters, photographers and web developers
Skills We're Stoked About
7-10 years of design experience
Top candidates have a strong understanding of industry trends and creative tools, such as Adobe Creative Suite as well as administrative and financial reporting tools.
Experience performing or managing a range of creative positions, such as graphic designer, art director and copywriter, is important.
Expert knowledge of the business side of design is a major plus.
Stellar communication, presentation, problem-solving and project-management skills, along with elevated soft skills to inspire creativity and work well with different personality types — all while juggling various projects in a fast paced environment.
