What You Will Do
The Art Director will report to the Creative Director of Advertising in the Creative Group of GoPro Studio. This role will help generate campaign concepts and visual designs that span across all media platforms including: video, print, digital advertising, social media, websites, events, mobile apps, logos and branding.
Concept and develop advertising executions on all media platforms
Partner with the web team on home pages, banners, category pages and emails
Partner with Creative Director and Marketing Department on visual branding of each product category, seasonal initiatives and promotions
Produce sketches, storyboards and art layouts based on strategic positioning, target audience and brand culture
Ensure a high standard of visual execution across all media and campaigns
Review the work of designers and provide direction and effective feedback
Take ownership of the visual elements of creative work for new pitches
Uncover new ways to incorporate emerging and new media formats into campaigns
Present work to Creative Directors and or upper management for approval
Skills We're Stoked About
A strong portfolio and 3 to 5 years of experience as an Art Director
Advertising agency experience is a plus
Ability to generate a reliable supply of original ideas and visual concepts using Adobe Creative Suite and Sketch
A broad understanding of marketing design and layout
A strong knowledge of typography, image manipulation, illustration and animation
The confidence to explain and support your thinking, both internally and externally
A flexible approach and willingness to adapt your ideas to the needs of integrated marketing and consumer insights
A passion for advertising and commercial art
A keen eye for visual details and accuracy
The resilience to perform under pressure and deliver high-quality work to tight deadlines in a very fast pace environment
High level of Creative Suite skills as well as the latest art and design packages
A good awareness of digital media and evolving online platforms
An innovative approach to the media and the ways in which advertising is carried
Ability to take direction well and work as a team
