We are searching for a passionate Engineering Manager with hands-on Java development skills who loves to work with smart people and wants to develop a fantastic team to join our Coverage Team for the DACH Region.

As a Software Engineering Manager at GoEuro you will…
… be responsible together with the Product Owner and the Country Manager for providing the best possible transportation options for the DACH region to our consumers. You will assure to have a happy and high performing team and jump-in with hands-on development support every now and then. You will be directly managing talented engineers, develop and mentor them in technical and non-technical aspects, work closely with our travel providers and the other Tribes in GoEuro.
The following tasks are waiting for you:
Work closely with providers: integrate new ones and maintain the existing partners
Improve our provider platform to simplify and streamline our complex tasks and make our system that integrates hundreds of APIs even more resilient
Manage a talented team of software developers, grow and develop it
Lead projects across multiple teams: product, business development, design, desktop and mobile web, native apps, APIs
Establish best practices for cross-team collaboration and software development processes
Debug and solve difficult technical problems and troubleshoot performance issues
Lead by example in software quality
What are we looking for in you?
You should have a minimum of 4 years experience as tech-lead and/or people manager,
A solid track-record of successfully shipped software products with teams in an Agile environment,
Hands-on experience in building large software systems,
At least five years of professional web or mobile development experience in Java and related technologies and frameworks
Great English language skills, German will be a big "plus"
And of course a good understanding of software engineering best practices
