Job Description / Skills Required

As part of the Groupon Search Marketing team, you will be responsible for assuring the quality of systems that generate Groupon revenue derived from search engine referral traffic. You will do this by extending and improving existing and developing new automated testing solutions for the groupon.com website to give users a better experience and more ways to find Groupon. Our team launched Groupon's first on site search, Groupon Place Pages and the Groupon Guide. Join us and you will assure the quality of web development services to nearly every team at Groupon.

Work within a small team whose work cuts across all parts of the Groupon product.

You will own the SEO Team’s Test Automation function.

Have a free hand to develop in the most appropriate way for any given situation

Contribute to the architecture and design of the core services and systems for delivering web pages and applications tailored for organic search and end users alike

Own and develop key components of the Search Marketing CMS system and associated services

Be responsible for the quality, reliability and scalability of these systems

Mentor, motivate, and foster innovation in other team members

Experience with test automation frameworks and functional and acceptance testing of web applications

Relevant web development experience using node.js (express.js), Java frameworks or similar stacks with a "mobile first" focus.

Familiarity with HTML/CSS and frontend javascript including jquery and single page application frameworks like Vue.js

Experience with relational database systems like MySQL

Good understanding of instrumenting and optimizing software to maximize business metrics

Experience with an iterative development process

Experience in a startup environment a definite plus

BS, MS or PhD in Computer Science or equivalent
