The Head Human Resources will be based out of our Bangalore office and will have overall responsibility for the Human Resources function for India. The Head Human Resources will focus on independently defining, developing and implementing broad-based HR programs and processes to drive business results and organizational capabilities.

The incumbent will promote employee engagement through the design, communication and interpretation of HR policies and programs. This role is responsible for the implementation of strategies to improve individual as well as organizational performance. It is also responsible for focusing on the big picture as well as details and anticipating challenges and opportunities. It needs to ensure that the appropriate linkage exists with the HR Centers of Excellence (e.g. Talent Development, Recruiting, Compensation & Benefits, HRIS, etc.) and respective client groups, to promote a balance between global consistency and local customization in HR policies/practices.

Reporting to the VP of HR, the incumbent must have experience in a matrix HR organization in a multi-national environment and must be able to demonstrate strong leadership ability to guide or direct others through action or influence.

The ability to build successful relationships between multiple stakeholders and deliver value is critical. The incumbent will be responsible for identifying business needs and working with the regional Centers of Excellence to deliver high quality solutions to internal customers.

Responsibilities:

Partner with the regional and global HR org as well as the business to facilitate organization and culture change.
Manage employee relations including conducting investigations and resolving queries of employees pertaining to policies, process, payroll etc.
Act as a catalyst for building oganizational effectiveness within the business.
Educate the business on the evolution of Groupon HR’s operating model
Define and implement the strategy and programs needed to successfully develop leaders, managers and employees.
Bring about process improvements in the assigned business functions
Analyze existing programs and make recommendations where necessary for ongoing improvements.
Qualifications:

A Bachelor Degree with an Advanced degree such as MS/MA in Human Resources, Organization Development, or MBA or similar qualifications in related disciplines is preferred.
12 years of Human Resources experience with a minimum of 3-5 years as an HR Business Partner or Generalist is required.
The incumbent must have strong conceptual understanding of all facets of the HR function.
Learning agility and the ability to ‘connect the dots ‘ and drive solutions in an environment of ambiguity are essential .
A genuine passion for solving problems in a manner that is aligned to organizational strategy.
Knowledge of local employment law, current legislation and current HR practices.
General business experience and acumen in understanding and supporting company objectives
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
A self-starter, able to work independently in a fast-paced environment
Ability to work effectively in a team across diverse culture and local business practices
