Are you an imaging systems technologist who loves to be creative? GoPro is seeking a top tier candidate for the Imaging Technology Architect position in the Imaging Technology team. This person will drive new imaging technology ideas, system concepts, architectures investigations, demos and development to evolve and innovate GoPro’s next generation products. The candidate will oversee new technologies development and validation for progress into product development, and will provide overall guidance for solving challenges and issues throughout product development cycle, and ultimately release into world-class products. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in developing new imaging technologies into consumer electronic products, and have a deep working knowledge and passion for imaging systems, a good knowledge in the design, development and manufacturing of camera modules, and strong leadership and communications skills.
What You Will Do
Drive new imaging system architectures and new technologies development
Demo new imaging concepts
Conduct research and oversee technology development, validation, and ultimately delivery into world-class products
Manage technology development projects through the core technology development process
Review and clearly summarize projects technical status, related tradeoffs and recommendations.
Work alongside product definition team for technology roadmap integration
Skills We’re Stoked About
Physics or imaging technologies-related advanced degree; PhD preferred
Deep understanding and appreciation of imaging systems – from photons to optics to opto mechanical systems to sensor to image processing algorithms to manufacturing testing
Ability to develop own SW tools to help with modeling and demonstration of new concepts
Success in bringing technologies to market from conception to production
Works with minimal supervision on complex technical efforts
Technical leadership and technical project management experience
Camera module integration and manufacturing is a plus
10+ years of hands-on industry experience
Team player; Ability to work in cross-functional teams
Strong interpersonal and communication skills
Results and deadline driven
