GoPro is looking for a top tier candidate for the Senior Hardware Manager role. The position will be responsible for leading the development of the hardware portion of GoPro aerial devices.

What You Will Do

Build/Manage GoPro’s aerial hardware engineering team that develops state of the art aerial products including drones and accessories. Mentors, grows, counsels, and assesses performance of engineering personnel’s.
Work with cross-functional technical leaders to drive direction, architecture, implementation, and validation of electrical systems on aerial product roadmap for multi-year timelines.
Champions initiatives for continuous improvement of engineering policies, processes, and procedures to ensure quality of deliverables.
Participate in project planning, product architecture design, detailed design, design reviews (such as schematic/layout/test plan), and validation.
Provide expertise to the product definition group during product evaluation.
Collaborate with NPI team and contact manufactures during development phase to ensure smooth product launch.

Skills We’re Stoked About

10+ years of experience in HW development including 3+ years in managing hardware engineering team.
BS in Electrical or Computer Engineering Degree; Masters preferred.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
Thorough understanding of product development life cycle and NPI processes. Experience with contract manufacturing is a plus.
Solid hardware board design background and knowledge of system architecture for consumer products. Experience in hardware product development with an organization developing consumer devices is preferred. Previous drone development experience is a plus but not required.
Strong experience in power/battery management and motor driver
Experience in designing digital hardware system with MCU, Microprocessor, highs speed memories, and High Speed transceivers.
Experience in various bus architectures and interfaces such as USB (2/3/Type C), SDIO, MIPI, and HDMI
Technical expertise in some of following areas: WiFi, GPS, Bluetooth, and EMI/EMC/ESD compliance.
