The Senior Mechanical Engineer will be responsible for developing innovative mechanical design solutions for current and upcoming Aerial and Stabilization/Gimbal products and platforms. Has extensive experience using state-of-the-art CAD, simulation, and analysis tools to create and evaluate complex mechanical designs; primarily consisting of injection-molded plastic, stamped sheet-metal, die-cast, and MIM metal components and assemblies for high-volume mass production. Will work closely with internal and/or external partners to perform all necessary analysis, generate all necessary documentation, and develop test plans to ensure that product/s meet specification.

What You Will Do

Responsible for the detailed design, analysis, documentation, and functional validation of complex mechanical components and assemblies.
Conducts and participates in mechanical engineering evaluation and test to validate the robustness and proper performance of new products.
Interface effectively with suppliers/partners, hardware, manufacturing, operations, quality, tooling, and other cross-functional.
Work with operations to support successful qualification of production tooling and production part approval.
Perform and evaluate all required Tolerance Analysis studies on complex assemblies.
Utilizes best-in-class tools to develop innovative mechanical solutions to highly complex dynamic systems.
Audit mechanical suppliers/external partners and advises enablement plans where needed.
Protect company intellectual property by submitting patent applications.

Skills We’re Stoked About

BS degree in Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, or equivalent. (M.S. degree preferred).
Experience in the detailed design and development of complex consumer electronics products.
Minimum 7 years of relevant professional industry experience in mechanical and/or product design.
Advanced knowledge and experience using Pro/Engineer, SolidWorks, or NX solid modeling and assembly creation.
Strong knowledge and experience in FEA/Structural Analysis and Simulation and/or CFD Tools for Fluid and Airflow analysis are a plus.
Working understanding of principals of vibration isolation, damping, design of experiments, materials and processes.
Mechatronics and/or robotics experience a plus.
Experience with Asia ODM partners and manufacturing suppliers. Travel to global manufacturing sites
