GoPro is seeking a top tier candidate for the Channel Marketing Manager position who will be responsible for the DACH region (Germany, Austria & Switzerland). Based in Munich, Germany, the position will be responsible for the development and execution of significant retail marketing activities including regional marketing strategy, in-store branding, customized projects and developing GoPro’s overall presence in consumer electronics and our core sports retail channels. Internally, this role will work extremely closely with the Sales, Training, Lifestyle and Consumer marketing teams to create innovative retail strategies and tactics working with our distribution partners. Externally, this position will work hand in hand with retail partners and oversee our distributors’ channel activities in each market. The ideal candidate will have initial experience in retail and trade marketing roles in this region, will bring a positive attitude: creativity, can do attitude, problem solving as well as outstanding motivation for the position and the brand GoPro.

What You Will Do

Develop all retail marketing programs including branding, funding and executable elements in the DACH region, keeping in-line with overall global and EMEA-wide scope;
Drive channel growth by aligning objectives and strategies with sales team, distributors and retailers;
Collaborate closely and leverage other marketing departments to create innovative channel marketing solutions for distribution partners;
Lead, direct, educate and oversee distributor retail strategies to execution;
Assist in developing field marketing process/merchandising solutions in region. Work closely with the Training Team to educate distributors and retailers;
Drive the development of custom in-store fixtures with key retail partners;
Implement marketing tactics such as product launches, athlete activation, event marketing, and social media campaigns with retail partners.

Skills We’re Stoked About

2+ years of experience in Channel Marketing, Trade marketing, Consumer Marketing, Brand Management; ideally in Consumer Electronics or fast moving industry;
Understand POS display development, retail services, planograms, merchandising, retail execution and process management. Ideally with first experience in that field;
Initial experience in managing external distribution partners and 3rd party marketing agencies;
Initial experience working with matrix organization including Sales, Retail, Legal, Brand, Operations and Events throughout the organization to ensure the deliverables meet deadlines;
Experience in sales or training is a plus, however, process skills are more critical;
Experience working closely and negotiating with Consumer Electronics retailers such as MediaMarkt, Saturn, Expert and/or sport retailers in Germany, Austria and/or Switzerland in a Marketing or Sales function a plus;
Exceptional communication skills including both oral and written, strong ability to manage multiple projects and contacts in a fast-paced environment;
Ability to work independently or with limited supervision;
Extensive travel across EMEA with occasional trips to the home office in San Mateo, California (40% of time);
BS degree, marketing or business administration. Master preferred;
German mother tongue, solid English language skills required. Additional language a plus;
Living in Munich or willing to be based in Munich, Germany.
