To realize that goal, GoPro is seeking a highly motivated, top tier candidate to take on the responsibilities of the Director, Consumer Insights, on the Analytics, Insights, & Research team. This role will partner with the marketing, product, and design teams, as well as analytics, UX research, customer service, and sales. This is a highly visible role at GoPro that at its core is tasked with bringing the voice of the GoPro customer to conversations with multiple teams at every level, including but not limited to brand strategy, product innovation, and creative testing. In addition, this role will manage a small team.
Key responsibilities include: constant collaboration with other teams to identify key questions, design and field research studies, synthesize findings, integrate additional available data, and drive those insights into actionable business decisions. The role will be a mix of strategy and tactics, in a fast-paced environment. In addition, the right candidate for this role will be able to proactively identify trends in marketing (traditional, digital, social, etc.) and consult with marketing teams to address those trends.
What You Will Do
Partner with Marketing, Product, and Design teams to identify key areas of customer research and market intelligence, execute research to answer those key questions, synthesize and present actionable findings to meaningfully drive the business and strategic direction at GoPro
Map our user journey and increase the understanding of our customers by developing profiles and segments with internal and external data sources
Provide strategic guidance about GoPro customers, consumer trends, competitive landscape, addressable market, and growth opportunities, both domestic and international
Continue to raise the bar on insights capabilities at GoPro, and evangelize data-driven decision making
Play a lead role at collaborating with sales team on forecasting, market and competitive intelligence, pricing, and strategy
Lead GoPro’s approach for measuring campaigns focused on acquisition and retention
Identify and monitor emerging trends, external marketing factors, and opportunities
Be a key contributor to the future strategy of the Analytics, Insights, and Research team
Skills We’re Stoked About
8+ years of experience in related work or academic experience, with a significant amount of hands-on experience, ideally in a tech environment, consumer electronics, or CPG company
BA or equivalent required, Master’s preferred
Strong knowledge insights tools and processes, both quantitative and qualitative
Proven track record of producing high quality, well-regarded, actionable insights
Previous experience leading a team, with direct management responsibility
Ability to synthesize data from multiple sources to drive actionable insights; a proven influencer with excellent communication skills
Excellent communication and presentation skills, especially being able to distill complicated concepts and insights into simple themes
Previous experience working with marketing, with knowledge and experience in offline and online media
Willing to travel (minimal)
