Groupon’s mission is to be the daily habit for customers to save money on brands they love. The Coupons team is an affiliate marketing segment of the Groupon business aiming to partner with top national brands looking to drive incremental sales via Groupon’s expansive push marketing platform and Groupon.com & mobile app marketplace. Unlike other couponing sites that rely solely on SEO, Groupon Coupons is focused on leveraging its expansive database of customers. From new customer acquisition through to checkout conversion, we provide solutions for our partners through the entire customer journey.

We are seeking an exceptional individual to join Groupon’s growing Coupons sales organization to drive strategic expansion of new business, develop strong client relationships, and contribute to the organization’s sales and customer growth goals. As Coupons is a small team and a “startup within a startup”, we value hunger and speed. A keen intelligence, unrelenting drive, curiosity, confidence, sales savvy and ability to self-start are necessities for this role.

The role requires an in-depth understanding of national retailers across North America (both online and brick and mortar) and subsequent delivery of quality marketing solutions to fit their needs, while also ensuring the successful expansion of existing relationships to foster the growth of marketing campaigns and placement for emerging products.

Core Responsibilities:

Close new national retail client relationships, which may require approximately 35-50% travel

Manage a large portfolio of existing national retail client relationships to facilitate growth of revenue through in-store mobile offers, affiliate commission increases, exclusive online offers and paid advertising placement opportunities

Effectively prepare merchants for their campaign launches and provide tracking and optimization insights post-campaign

Ensure campaigns are being targeted and executed correctly, providing strategic guidance to optimize for market demand and merchant quality while maximizing ROI potential

Execute against new sales & marketing opportunities in cooperation with content, finance and the product teams to deliver continued enhancement of client relationships

Act as a single point of contact for the merchant, collaborating with internal departments to oversee production, execution and follow through

Execute client communications strategy to ensure service needs are met and drive continued engagement with Groupon, encouraging client retention and loyalty

Implement new processes as necessary to support a growing portfolio

Deliver against metrics and merchant satisfactions to achieve optimal operational and financial performance, exceeding KPI’s

Requirements:

BS degree in marketing, business or other related field

5+ years of relevant experience; affiliate program management or affiliate/marketing solution sales a plus

Proficient with Salesforce, Excel, Word and Powerpoint

Previous experience and success with fast moving sales or technology companies

Previous experience working with national retailers and C-Level marketing executives

Track record of account retention & growth with success achieving revenue targets

Experience hitting and exceeding sales goals through sound strategy

Proven account management, upselling / cross-selling, analytical and problem solving skills

Solid decision-making skills, sales instincts and sound judgment
