Job Description / Skills Required
This role on our IT support team provides 2nd level (and sometimes 3rd) technical support to all staff.
The typical day involves researching and diagnosing complex technical issues for desktop hardware and software, networks (wired and wireless) and working closely with our IT teams in global offices. The role assists in monitoring the Help Desk ticketing system which includes routing tickets to the appropriate support teams as well as providing level 1 support (in-person) when appropriate. PC distribution of new systems, asset management, and helping with computer equipment relocation. On a day to day you will deal a wide variety of issue from simple hardware replacement, RMA equipment, to troubleshooting site system issues.
We have a strong Windows presence in our office environments, and we also support Microsoft Linux desktops and servers. Combined with the fact that we are experiencing tremendous growth with ongoing facility expansions, this makes for a great learning opportunity. Experience in supporting both Windows and Linux environments is a requirement, and a willingness to learn new Technologies like Vmware, Avalanche, and different monitoring softwares.
2 – 4 years of experience working in a desktop support environment, saving people's e-lives along the way.
Low level Linux systems administration skills to some Advanced system Administration
Experience in managing support requests through a ticketing system, using clear and detailed communication.
Familiarity with managing users and permissions through Microsoft Active Directory.
Experience with in a production warehouse environment strongly preferred (working on your feet, crawling under dusty things, lifting dusty heavy things).
Professional, relevant examples of your ridiculous attention to detail and excellent customer service skills
Prior experience configuring deploying and managing RF Handguns (MC3200-series from Motorola.
Experience with printers and printer maintenance.
Enterprise Windows desktop support experience for 300+ users
Experience with Google apps, Warehouse management software, RF scanner gunner and related software, McAfee Antivirus.
2 – 4 years experience maintaining/building IT networks and firewalls. Cisco experience strongly preferred.
