To realize that goal, GoPro is seeking a highly motivated, top tier candidate to take on the responsibilities of the Director, Analytics, on the Analytics, Insights, & UX Research team.  This role will partner with the marketing, product, and engineering teams, as well as consumer insights, UX research, design, customer service, and sales.  This is a highly visible role at GoPro that will bringing user insights to multiple teams at every level.  It is a hands-on role, and the ideal candidate will have expertise and a passion for exploring data, deriving insights, and building models.  In addition, this role will manage a small team.
Key responsibilities include: deriving user insights from big data across GoPro’s ecosystem, driving automated reporting and requirements, evangelizing insights from the data, taking the lead to ensure that analytics and front and center at all of the relevant touch points in product development (SW, HW and FW), working with UX research and Consumer Insights teams to tell a comprehensive and fully informed story about the user journey, developing a long-term roadmap for analytics at GoPro, and mentoring and coaching a team. In addition, the right candidate for this role will be able to proactively identify trends in analytics, big data, and data science, and consult with the right teams to take advantage of new technologies and innovation where possible. 
What You Will Do
Partner with Marketing, Product, and Engineering teams to identify key areas where GoPro should be leveraging insights from data
Set GoPro up for success by taking the lead on working with teams to automate reporting, while also digging deeper into the data to derive more advanced insights
Map our user journey and increase the understanding of our customers by developing profiles and segments with internal and external data sources
Track KPIs and create standard reports and dashboards to analyze performance of apps and features; work with cross-functional teams to set targets and measure performance
Perform exploratory and targeted data analyses using descriptive statistics and other methods
Synthesize and present actionable findings to meaningfully drive the business and strategic direction at GoPro
Partner with UX research, GoPro training, and the beta team to leverage analytics from small scale but very impactful use cases in the development and innovation process
Continue to raise the bar on analytics and data science capabilities at GoPro, and evangelize data-driven decision making
Be a key contributor to the future strategy of the Analytics, Insights, and UX Research team
Skills We’re Stoked About
8+ years of experience in related work or academic experience, with a significant amount of hands-on experience, ideally in a tech environment, consumer electronics, or CPG company
BA or equivalent required, Master’s preferred
Strong understanding and experience using SQL
Experience working with large data sets in a big data environment, and the knowledge that goes along with that
Experience using Tableau, Python, R, SAS, Stata, Highcharts, D3 or other open source analytics tools, and visualization libraries like Plotly, Seaborn, Bokeh, ggplot2, or similar
Analytical thinker with a strong passion for data, charts, analysis, trends, and evangelizing data usage across various teams
Proven track record of producing high quality, well-regarded, actionable insights
Previous experience leading a team, with direct management responsibility
Excellent communication and presentation skills, especially being able to distill complicated concepts and insights into simple themes
Previous experience working with product teams, marketing teams, and engineering teams (especially big data)
Willing to travel (minimal)
