GoPro is looking for a top tier candidate for the Senior Hardware Engineer role. This position will be responsible for designing and developing the electrical hardware of new aerial, stabilization, and imaging hardware products. This position requires solid board level design skill as well as system integration expertise. The Senior Hardware Engineer will work closely with cross functioning teams, our partners and suppliers to deliver high quality products. The ideal candidate will have strong interpersonal and communication skills.
What You Will Do
Investigate, study, and select critical components.
Perform schematic capture and review, PCB design review, and electrical BoM release.
Develop hardware validation plans and review test results.
Bring up, analyze, validate, and characterize hardware design. Determine performance characteristics and document into engineering documentation.
Participate in technical discussion and collaborate with the cross functioning team such as mechanical, firmware, product design, document control, and program management during the product development phase.
Support products from initial concept through manufacturing bring up
Skills We’re Stoked About
Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent.
At least 10 years of experience in electrical hardware development.
Experience in designing highly reliable systems (such as automotive)
Experience in designing power electronics with voltages up to 24V.
Experience in designing digital hardware system with MCU, Microprocessor, DSP, highs speed memories (LPDDR/eMMC), and High Speed transceivers.
Experience in various bus architectures and interfaces such as USB(2/3/Type C), SDIO, MIPI, and HDMI
Experience in low power design, power conversion, and battery management.
Proven ability in analyzing root cause, complex design debugging, and problem solving with engineering test equipment.
Proven ability to work independently with minimal guidance and ability in handling multiple tasks.
Ability to work cross‐functionally along with strong interpersonal and communication skills.
Experience in any of following areas will be added advantage: WiFi, GPS, Bluetooth, CMOS image sensor architecture, EMI/EMC/ESD compliance, and Signal Integrity analysis.
Experience in hardware product development with organization developing portable consumer devices is a plus.
