We are looking for a seasoned and ambitious Senior Product Manager to define and drive the on-device software roadmap, features, and releases for GoPro’s capture devices. This individual will assess the market and customer needs to help GoPro deliver the easiest way for all customers to easily capture and share beautiful footage no matter their skillset. They will need to be passionate about camera/photos/video software, and be able to confidently present their products and proposals up through executive staff. They will need to own a vision that spans the entire user story, across device software, cloud, app, and sharing based on market understanding and customer-driven data. They will define the requirements for software features and releases that deliver on this vision. The right candidate will be proactive in reviewing and collaborating with engineering, UX, QA, IQ, Legal, Operations, and Sales to drive their vision into a successful cadence of releases for our customers. They will be metrics-driven and keep close tabs on the success or areas to improve of their features, tracking bugs and adjustments needed in sustaining updates. They will own their products and features through conception, development, launch, and into sustaining until their product/features’ end of life.

What You Will Do

Use market and customer data to define the vison, roadmap, and features for on-device software
Craft detailed definition of product requirements to enable engineering, UX, and QA to build and test against their vision
Effectively present product vision and requirements to executive staff and external channel partners
Partner closely with the broader GoPro product management organizations including aerial, accessories, and software to build a compelling end-to-end customer experience
Collaborate with cross functional teams (engineering, UX, QA, legal, etc.) to make product tradeoffs as needed
Triage bugs and required sustaining support for products and features post-launch
Maintain product metrics, tracking bugs and necessary improvements until product/features’ end of life
Skills We’re Stoked About

Bachelor’s degree in a technical field, or equivalent work experience
6+ years of product management experience in managing on-device software products and features in the customer-facing consumer electronics space
Outstanding written skills in documenting requirements, creating effective and compelling presentations, and crafting roadmaps
Proven ability to clearly and confidently articulate their position verbally in stressful environments including large audiences, executive staff, or cross functional meetings
Experience in utilizing JIRA and Confluence for product requirements, stories, and bug triage
Experience working with both Agile and waterfall product development methodologies
Experience bringing to market compelling software in consumer electronic products, features, and experiences that have received high customer satisfaction rating
Experience presenting to executive staff where they achieved successful buy-in on product and roadmap proposals
Able to receive cross-functional recommendation from previous co-workers in Product Management, Engineering, QA, and UX
Limited travel is required. Examples include meetings with remote GoPro teams, potential partners/customers, trade shows, and launch events
Must be able to work full-time from our San Mateo, CA office
Must be able to work under NDA with confidential information and/or issues requiring discretion and judgment
Bonus Skills We’re Stoked About

MBA or post-graduate technical degree
Strong passion in consumer and/or prosumer cameras, including mobile devices
Specific experience in owning complex and innovative software features and complete experiences, ideally including a full OS or feature spanning multiple hardware products
Extensive understanding of camera, photo and/or video technologies, competitive landscape, and where those products/technology are trending long term
