Job Description / Skills Required

This role will support the accounting activities of the newly created European Accounting Centre of Excellence (EACOE) for EMEA based in Poland. Key activities of the EACOE include coordinating the regional close process across the different main regional hubs located in UK, Italy, Spain, France and Germany, Poland. Further activities include managing the accounting operations of specific subsidiaries across all EMEA legal entities. Whilst most of the operating legal entities are managed out of the regional hubs, the EACOE is responsible for all USGAAP and Statutory Financials. The role reports into the Accounting Manager and is based in Warsaw.

Job Responsibilities

Perform the daily bookings and ongoing tasks and activities of the local accounting department
Play a key role in the month end close process by preparing journal entries and managing various asset and liability reconciliations
Co-ordinate accounting activities with outsourcing providers
Assist the AP team in daily accounting activities and month-end closing processes
Support Accounting Manager in fluctuation analysis
Monitor intercompany positions to ensure proper balancing among entities
Support the preparation of statutory financial statements and corporate reports
Prepare reporting and reconciliation of cash aggregation and cash flow forecasting activities
Supporting special projects and implementations aimed at improving operating efficiencies

Bachelor degree in Finance/Economics
US GAAP knowledge, IFRS and HGB (as an asset)
Work Experience:

At least 5 years’ experience in a Finance & Accounting area in international environments
Financial Shared Service Centre experience
Experience in matrix structured work
Communicative, initiative and empathetic personality
Adaptable and Resourceful
Ability to manage competing tasks effectively
High organizational skills
Ability to work in a team environment
Focused on development and goal oriented
Skills, Competencies and Required Knowledge (Certifications, Languages, Training)

Proficient in Microsoft Excel
Proficient in English, other European languages a plus
Knowledge of Netsuite a plus
Knowledge of Blackline GL reconciliations tool
