The newly formed developer agility and tools team is charged with improving the developer experience at Groupon. Our engineering colleagues are our core customers, and we work on building tools and infrastructure that will allow them to focus on developing, testing and releasing high quality software. We partner with teams to champion best practices, identify pipeline bottlenecks and take advantage of opportunities for automation.
Our team is looking for an experienced SDE to help us build tools and distributed infrastructure to improve developer productivity and drive excellence across the engineering organization. In this role you will work with teams across Groupon and get exposure to a diverse set of technologies. This is a fantastic opportunity to change how Groupon builds software.
Develop frameworks, monitoring tools, release techniques and infrastructure to increase the speed of release cycles and allow for high-quality product delivery.
Drive initiatives across engineering teams with a focus on increasing developer productivity.
Work closely with other engineers within your group and across the product and engineering organization to identify problems and build effective technical solutions.
Develop tools to identify Groupon’s platform scalability and stability bottlenecks and visualize key quality metrics.
At least 3 years experience in software development, preferably building developer-facing tools
Excellent coding skills in one or more languages: Java, C#, C++, or Ruby
Development experience with service-oriented architectures/microservices
Hands-on experience with continuous integration platforms like Jenkins
Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
Ability to work collaboratively through an agile development process that promotes constant team communication
Experience with Docker OR Vagrant desired
