Groupon’s marketplace depends on having a deep and broad selection of businesses for consumers to explore. Groupon’s Merchant product team is tasked with building products that get merchants excited to join Groupon and successful while on the platform.
As a PM on the Merchant Product team, your leadership can make the difference. You will work closely with Engineering, Design, Sales and Operations to drive the vision and execution of our next products to local businesses globally.
Know your customers – understand their needs and what would make them successful by speaking with them frequently as well as analysing behavioral data
Develop product strategy, informed by customer and market insights, competitive landscape, technical capability, and internal initiatives/assets
Evangelize your product vision and strategy with stakeholders and senior leadership
With Engineering, define a detailed, rolling a 4-quarter product roadmap based on the product strategy and drive the alignment of key releases to deliver on the roadmap
Lead the the full product lifecycle – from requirements definition, to delivery, to end of life – collaborating with other teams across the company, including Engineering, Design, QA, Operations and Sales
Establish business metrics and key customer/market research questions and work with market research (or build your own process) to gather key customer insights to inform optimization or new product development
Challenge the existing status-quo on how Groupon works with merchants
5+ years experience in Product Management with a record of successful software project deliveries
Proven ability to make data-driven decisions and extract insights from product metrics.
Experience with data mining tools and frameworks: SQL, Teradata, and statistical analysis
Experience with Agile development processes, writing user stories and acceptance criteria
Relevant experience in analyzing product data and identifying opportunities
Comfortable being hands-on in a dynamic, entrepreneurial environment
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Excellent problem solving skills and ability to work independently
Experience with Mobile product management a plus
Experience in B2B or enterprise software a plus
