Groupon’s continues to grow! Do you want to join a team that builds data backbone for one of the largest e-commerce companies? Groupon Enterprise Data Warehouse (EDW) team builds data pipelines to meet operational, analytical and data science needs of our business.
The EDW team at Groupon leverages a blend of streaming (Kafka), big data (hadoop), data management (Teradata) and visualization tools (Tableau) to provide the insights Groupon needs to delight our customers. As an EDW Technical Data Analyst, you will be working on building quick turnaround POC’s to validate business needs, create data flows for new business initiatives and data quality monitors & dashboards.
The ideal candidate will have analytical prowess, a bias for action, humility, and the ability to create and manipulate data sets. This role will report into the Group Product Manager for EDW.
Work with EDW Data PM and Engineering teams to accelerate time to market for new solutions
Build POC’s using raw data streams to validate business needs
Design and improve data flows
Manipulate large data sets to derive insights – provide inputs to design ETL design, evolution of existing algorithms and answer stakeholder questions
Creation of dashboards and reports providing insight into business trends
Build data quality measures and monitors
Bachelor’s degree in Mathematics, Finance, Economics, Statistics, or Computer Science.
Deep knowledge of data warehousing and BI systems.
Experience in database analytics, data infrastructure development, and data visualization.
Strong Excel skills.
Knowledge of a scripting language (preferably Python) or object oriented programming.
Ability to perform data driven analyses including problem statement, data discovery, and result communication.
