Job Description / Skills Required

We are seeking a retail-savvy Online Merchandiser to fuel the growth of Groupon Goods, our online retail arm dedicated to featuring great deals on great products. To get airspace on Groupon Goods, a product has to be cool enough to share and innovative enough to inspire.

This Junior Merchandiser will support the Buying team in sourcing and procuring products that we share with subscribers every day and in turn, provide a customisable way for brands to connect with a potentially new customer base.

To succeed in as a Junior Merchandiser you must be highly analytical, understand product portfolios and results driven with the ability to build relationships and communicate to a large team of diverse individuals.

Core Responsibilities:

Work closely with international buying team to provide merchandising and product strategy and help identifying correct products to source for the goods platform.
Source and solidify top-tier-brands wanted lists for the buying team to target
Research product landscape to keep current with industry trends and pricing dynamics in the consumer-product-goods space
Identifying market trends, spotting opportunities and driving the buying team to capitalise upon these
Perform daily, weekly, monthly and quarterly sales analysis with the buying team.
Provide plans for sales and inventory
Provide brand pricing strategy
Managing inventory and forecast quantity to purchase.
Optimizing stock levels

Requirements:

An understanding of Multi brand retailing.
An understanding of global retailing and e-commerce
Direct responsibility for P&L of multi million pound categories
A self-starter who does not need to be micro managed.
Excellent knowledge of Excel (Vlookups, pivot tables etc.)
An upper second class Honours Degree, a Masters Degree is also preferred but it is not essential
Well organised and is able to prioritise workload.
Process driven – both in working style and ability to propose new processes.
Flexible – being prepared to get involved in other areas of the business that might not necessarily be deemed a merchandising function.
Excellent communications skills – verbally and written.

Past experience displaying awareness for the impact of teammates across the organization (i.e., the company is bigger than me)
1+ years working experience
English and Spanish
Preference given to candidates with e-commerce experience and those well-versed in industry trends in consumer electronics, health and beauty, sporting and fitness, apparel and accessories, and home and kitchen.
