If yes, you could be a great fit for this role with the Data Science team at Groupon. The Data Science team performs complex analysis over large data sets using cutting edge technology. At any given time, the team works on a portfolio of projects that have a direct impact on Groupon’s business.
Design, execute, measure, document and present the results of deal level A/B tests
Answer all deal level A/B test-related questions, generate insights that can be used for further testing and learning
Influence a diverse group of customers; remove resistance and be an advocate for positive change based on the findings from A/B testing
Help drive the roadmap for the deal level A/B testing platform; track all the right metrics/segments identified in collaboration with other product/business teams. Drive ongoing automation of test readouts.
Monitor A/B testing best practices and incorporate them into Groupon’s A/B testing methodology. Collaborate with other A/B testing teams to continually elevate company wide A/B testing standards.
PhD degree in statistics, applied mathematics, economics, econometrics or related quantitative field. MS graduates with strong academic records are welcome to apply.
2+ years of focused experience as a A/B testing data scientist or a related role. (4+ years for MS graduates)
Experience as a team leader is highly preferred.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with demonstrable ability to deliver compelling fact-based presentations
Expert in R or Python with experience in machine learning related packages
Expert in SQL with experience in data warehouse technologies like Teradata
Experience with big data technologies like Spark and Hive is a plus
