To help us on this mission, we are looking for data visualization experts in our Dublin office who share our passion for crafting a new evolution in local commerce.
As the Business Intelligence Engineer, you will create data visualizations and maintain the underlying platform for business users to be more productive. You will be responsible for working with many organisations throughout Groupon to build and extend centralised reporting and enable decentralised analytical teams to provide bespoke and performant visualization solutions. The right candidate will possess a proven track record of analytical prowess, ability to work with many stakeholders, bias for action, and technical aptitude.
Bachelor degree in science/engineering with programming experience
At least 5 years of experience in big data analytics
Strong SQL, Tableau, Excel and other reporting tools
A scripting language (eg. Bash, Python, R) or other programming languages (D3 or Java)
Comfortable in a Linux command line environment
Self-starter, strong sense of ownership, getting things done
Hive / Map Reduce (Hadoop)
Passion for solving complex visualization problems
An obsessions for works by Tufte, Few, Cairo and Yau.
