Groupon drives local commerce by connecting consumers and merchants – join the merchant engineering team, which helps small local businesses to succeed! You will be working in a tight knit group of engineers, product managers, and designers chartered with thinking outside the box to empower our merchants in connecting with their local community and drive customers through their door.
As a front – end software engineer on the merchant platform, you will be building web based experiences for managers, employees and local businesses. We’re past the world where software was written for “businesses” – we are building software for people! The needs of our users are both demanding and complex – you will be building responsive experiences that treat them as unique individuals, operating within their own context, with their own wants and needs.
You’ll be using modern web technologies in Groupon’s SOA, partnering with back – end and mobile teams to deliver compelling holistic experiences.
The web experiences you build will be incredibly high quality and high performance – our business users can’t tolerate downtime or errors and is critical in serving a seamless experience.
At the end of the day, you will be writing great code, collaborating with product engineers and design leaders to ensure we’re not only solving problems in the right way, but that we’re solving the right problems.
Experience developing front – end applications that talk to RESTful API’s speaking JSON
Passionate about quality, testing and code reviews
Experience with Git or other version control system
Self motivated/starter attitude
Willingness to work on a truly global/remote team spread across many time zones and countries
