This position's responsibilities will center around the development of advanced hardware components and development systems for GoPro products. Additionally, this position will support camera hardware implementation engineers to transition new hardware technologies into near-term camera systems.
Within the Camera Technology Team, you will join a group of experts in embedded software development and evolve in an innovative, dynamic, passionate and international environment. You will be involved in the design, development, implementation and optimization of many innovations including features targeted for future releases of GoPro products.
What You Will Do
Your main activities will deal with design, architecture, implementation, integration, optimization and validation of technical features on versatile and heterogeneous platforms;
You will prototype new features on various platforms for internal proof of embeddability;
You will ensure the time-to-market constraint by focusing, from the beginning, the product ability of the proposal;
You will work closely with cross functional teams to ensure the adequacy and the support of innovative features you are involved in;
You are expected to be a technical animator and a challenger of any existing solutions;
You will plan, track and report projects you are in charge of;
You will report to the camera technology firmware director.
Skills We’re Stoked About
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or equivalent;
7+ years of significant embedded software development and integration;
Solid verbal and written communication skills;
Deep knowledge and understanding on embedded system (software and hardware architecture);
GIT is your friend;
Strong Python, C, C++, assembly (ARM) programming skills;
Embedded Linux, Android, RTOS, cross-compiler, analysis tools… proficiency;
Linux and GNU tools are daily basis tools;
Ability to drive engineers within an enthusiast collaboration and to make a shared success of projects you are involved in;
Ability to apprehend a new platform for fast efficiency;
You like technology for being useful (including surveillance) and have realistic mindset;
