Divisional Merchandise Manager, Hardlines and Health/Beauty

Job Description / Skills Required

We are seeking a Divisional Merchandising Manager (DMM) for our Goods channel to lead our Hardlines and Health/Beauty Categories. This person will drive top-line financial results for multiple vertical product categories including but not limited to Home Improvement, Automotive, Sports, as well as Health and Beauty.


Coordinating, completing, and overseeing job-related activities and assignments for Merchandising by developing and maintaining relationships with key suppliers
Achieving sales and margin plans through effective management of item and category
Developing short- and long-term strategies for category growth
Partnering with the GM in driving sales through implementing promotional and marketing activities
Analyzing marketplace trends to determine new category-related businesses to enter, as well as down-trending businesses to be eliminated
Assisting Buyers with merchandise purchasing for medium-risk, high-volume categories by developing and planning merchandise assortments
Remaining current on competitive market positioning and projecting future market positioning in order to ensure Groupon Goods is at the forefront of new products
Managing online item content integrity for multiple categories
Job Requirements/Specifications:

Bachelors degree required; Masters degree preferred
7-10 years managing complex retail businesses, ideally in the Hardlines or Health/Beauty category
Experience managing a team and assuming accountability for delivering team goals, milestones, and pizzas
Highly motivated team player with strong leadership skills; able to manage diverse groups while independently driving a business
Ability to shift focus from tactical operations to long-term strategic planning
Thrives on implementing or improving processes, and flexible within an ambiguous, ever-changing work environment
