Groupon’s mobile app has been downloaded more than 100 million times worldwide, making it one the most popular and highest-rated ecommerce apps on the planet. More than $6B will be spent on Groupon this year, and more than half of this will come through our mobile products. We don’t say this to brag, but to make an important point: the success of our mobile apps are essential to Groupon’s goal of creating the world’s largest marketplace for local goods and services. We’re well on our way to transforming the way that consumers discover and transact with the millions of local businesses around them, but we need to continuously improve our mobile experience to realize our business goals. We’re looking for a product lead to drive this transformation.
As a lead product manager on our mobile team, you will own a large set of features across both iOS and Android, giving you exposure to both mobile platforms and wide freedom to craft your roadmaps, develop your KPIs, and collaborate with an agile team of designers, developers, and QAs to rapidly build, test, release, and iterate on new mobile experiences. You will take a lead role in making Groupon a true mobile-first company, providing mobile thought leadership and sharing best practices with business executives, other product managers, and the designers and engineers who bring our products to life.
Own a large set of consumer-facing features that drive hundreds of millions of dollars a year in revenue.
Own the full product development lifecycle for your area: craft and communicate your vision, determine your KPIs, build your roadmap, and deliver your features.
Work closely with design, engineering, and QA to build and ship each feature, and then collaborate with Business Operations to measure results and iterate
Collaborate with other product and engineering teams to ship critical, high-dependency improvements to the core Groupon platform
Collect advice and provide feedback to other PMs in weekly feature review meetings
Directly manage a PM team in the first year
B.S. or higher in Computer Science, or equivalent experience
5+ years of product management experience
Experience managing team of product managers in fast-paced environment
Proven success in ecommerce product management a plus
Prior experience in setting product vision and signing up for business metrics
Proven ability to find creative solutions, juggle multiple concurrent projects, release rapidly and ship elegant, customer-centric applications
Ability to navigate barriers with multiple stakeholders in a large organization
