GoPro is seeking a top tier candidate for the Director, Brand Strategy and Campaign Management position based in San Mateo, CA. This position will be responsible for developing and driving unified go-to-market efforts and marketing campaigns that drive brand, product and business objectives. Developing and managing the successful strategy and execution of our marketing plan across PR, social, paid, CRM, web, product marketing, consumer insights, lifestyle marketing, creative and channel marketing to deliver strategically sound, cohesive communications is the key responsibility of this role.
What You Will Do
The ideal candidate will thrive in a cross-functional and collaborative environment and have a deep understanding of GoPro’s target audience. It will be the Director of Brand Strategy and Campaign Management’s charge to transform our various initiatives and innovative product offerings into a compelling narrative that inspires users. In addition, the position will also play a critical part in internal brand strategy and go-to-market processes to help bring company programs to consumers in a holistic and consistent way.
As the head of brand strategy, you will hold responsibility for ensuring that the consumer relationship with the GoPro brand remain authentic, personal and engaging both with the existing core and expansion markets and lifestyles. Moving people emotionally to action and advocacy is a hallmark of the company’s history and success and is of critical importance in this role.
Understanding the near-term and long-term value of building and maintaining a compelling consumer brand, and its role in achieving corporate objectives, will be central to success. In this role, you will foster lasting consumer relationships through a combination of internal and external insights, sound business/brand strategy and relationship building on a global scale.
Remain mindful of macro and micro trends (domestically and internationally) which impact consumer behavior. Lead the design and development of strategies which leverage the connection between our company, our products and evolving consumer needs to drive profitable company growth in a dynamic and increasingly competitive environment.
Develop and manage the strategic marketing/ go-to-market plan process across all touch points, working with domain experts across the marketing organization to develop integrated, end-to-end marketing plans. This includes: development of holistic marketing brief, insights and KPIs, ensuring proposed tactics and creative direction align with key goals and objectives, plan sell-in to marketing leaders, regular reviews and refinement, executional implementation and optimization, and analysis and reporting results to leadership
Work closely with product marketing team, creative, insights & analytics and business operations to create messaging and campaigns across our brand, product lineup and programs that seamlessly work in concert to inspire and educate consumers around GoPro’s offerings
Act as quality control and strategic filter throughout the planning process. Encourage regular communication and collaboration to elevate productivity and ensure prompt resolution of misalignments.
Drive weekly planning and status meetings to ensure teams are coordinated and up-to-date on GoPro priorities, relevant initiatives and marketing plans
Use consumer insights and analytics to help create relevant, strategically sound strategies, plans and campaigns
Own the strategic platform for marketing programs and partner with internal teams to ensure recommendations are smart and cohesive
Partner with VP, Global Marketing to map marketing innovation pipeline recommendations
Drive initiatives and activities that improve our ROI for marketing initiatives, including cross-market and regional opportunities to improve effectiveness and response to marketing activities/campaigns
Skills We're Stoked About
BS required, MBA is a plus
12+ years of experience in globally recognized brands in the Lifestyle, (Action) Sports or CE industry
