Working out of our Sydney headquarters, our Local Sales Division continues to establish Groupon as an integral marketing partner of top local businesses across Australia – everything ranging from restaurants, leisure, beauty, wellness, fitness, entertainment and services.

Sales is the engine room of Groupon – our success relies largely on our Business Development Consultants who have an unparalleled knowledge of the market and the customer. You'll know the latest trends, you know what will be the ‘next big thing’ and you pride yourself on staying ahead of the competition! You’ll know exactly how to educate merchants to help them realise the benefits of partnering with Groupon – benefits that see them increase their customer base and their bottom line too!

This position is all about pioneering, innovating and developing new business opportunities for Groupon; sourcing new merchants of tomorrow and building relationships with them.

A bit about the role:

Identify, engage, consult and close new local business owners on the field, across a wide spectrum of categories (including food, drink, health, beauty etc) on the benefits of featuring their business with Groupon
Own the full sales cycle from prospecting, cold calling and pipeline management
Devising marketing features that will assist merchants to increase and calibrate customer traffic and closing these deals face to face or over the phone
Sell the benefits of Groupon as a powerful marketing tool and in addition be able to sell the range of marketing channels we employ eg : EDMs, search engine management, behaviour triggered push notifications and affiliate marketing
A bit about you:

Prior experience selling over the phone or face to face and comfortable cold calling various types of businesses or customers
Fearless in a Sales environment – Sales can be challenging, but also be very rewarding so resilience, tenacity and dynamism in equal measure are the order of the day
Strong negotiation and consultation skills
Your A-Game – we're constantly evolving, so we are constantly changing – a willingness to learn and an ability to adapt
An outgoing personality & a great sense of humor will set you up for success at Groupon!
