Groupon's Search Marketing organization has an exciting opportunity for a Senior Software Engineer in the areas of large scale distributed systems and big data.
We are building one of the largest advertising platforms in the world: bringing together super scale data analytics, machine learning, and streaming techniques to process and act upon millions of events per minute. The systems we build manage the spend of hundreds of millions of advertising dollars worldwide through automated campaign generation and bidding algorithms. We are constantly iterating and experimenting with new technologies and ideas to move the needle and have been very successful in doing so thus far.
Who you are:
Independent and entrepreneurial, you want to flex your creative muscle: try out new ideas, propose experiments and build new services.
You have experience with Big data – Spark, Kafka, Storm, Hadoop – or are very keen to work in that space.
You have at least 5 years experience developing software using languages such as Java or Python and a degree in Computer Science, math or a related field.
