As one of the world’s largest and most sophisticated direct marketers, data is the lifeblood of our business. We are looking for a world-class Business Intelligence Engineer to join our new Go-To-Market (GTM) marketing team in Seattle to help power the biggest strategic initiative at Groupon; No-Printout cashback (Groupon+) and Salon & Spa booking (BeautyNow) products.
At this role you will be responsible for designing and building data infrastructure, data visualizations, and analytics services that you and your stakeholders will use to describe business performance, estimate customer and business metrics, and prescribe courses of action across these programs. The BI Engineer must excel at building big data analyses, SQL and Tableau.
Specific Duties Include:
Development of data infrastructure for enabling processes and reporting that will influence key decisions
Creation of dashboards and reports providing insight into business data.
Monitoring and optimization of existing and new campaigns and experiments through data analysis
Collaborate with business stakeholders, software developers, data engineers and data scientists to improve data quality of our data platforms
Clearly communicates progress against goals and insights with business leadership with keen ability to summarize findings.
Degree in Mathematics, Computer science, Statistics or Business Systems. Master degree with 3+ years experience or Bachelor degree with 5+ years experience in related area
3+ years of data-driven, analytics or engineering experience demonstrating success in ingesting, analyzing, and presenting large data-sets
Expertise with SQL, ETL & Hadoop
Knowledge of a scripting language (preferably Python) or any object oriented programming
Expertise with Tableau or other visualization tools
Strong communication and relationship building skills, with the ability to interpret and summarize data to help achieve strategic and operational goals
‘Builder’ mentality – identifies problems quickly and is eager to build solutions from scratch, not just improve on others work.
Comfortable with a fast-paced, always-on, start-up environment
Must have great analytical skills, strong business judgment and be an excellent project manager and prioritizer
