The Role

GoPro, the global leader in action cameras, is seeking a highly experienced and dynamic business development professional to lead and drive expansion of Core (Specialty) and Motorsports segments of our business.  The ideal candidate will have a profound passion for the core / motorsports industry, a minimum of 8+ years of sales leadership experience, and a proven track record in managing relationships with core / motorsports retailers and distributors in Japan.  This role has the potential to be regional, if the candidate is highly experienced and resourceful within industry.  

 

What You Will Do

  • Develop and execute a comprehensive sales expansion plan for motorsports / core retailers and distributors, covering motorcycle, marine, outdoor, and adventure sports, etc.
  • Generate revenue from segment accounts and meet quarterly / annually sales KPIs.
  • Identify and target key accounts that fit the GoPro brand and targeted consumer segments.
  • Expand GoPro listings into new POS, achieve the Company’s growth plans in terms of both door count and revenue.
  • Partner with Channel, Lifestyle, and Resort marketing teams to help achieve collaborative goals around customer engagement and acquisition, brand impressions and awareness, and other goals.
  • Collaborate with Japan Country Sales Manager on forecasting and budgeting process.
  • Maintain regular communications both internally and externally to review forecasts, orders, promotions, and inventory metrics.
  • Provide strategic advice in-relations to industry knowledge and expertise to ELT.

 

 Skills We’re Excited About

  • Minimum of 8 years of progressive experience in sales, with a focus on core / motorsports retailers and distributors.
  • Professional working proficiency in English and native level proficiency in Japanese.
  • Consumer Electric industry and distributor / retailer relationships preferred.
  • Strong understanding of the GoPro brand and target consumer.
  • Strong understanding of Japan / North Asia motorsport industry and landscape.
  • Ability to effect substantial positive change in a short timescale.
  • Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills.
  • Self-starter, strong self-discipline. Ability to travel up to 50% of the time.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

 

Bonus Points For

  • Bachelor’s degree.
  • Professional working proficiency or higher in Mandarin.
