As the Director of Marketing Operations, you will lead a team that is responsible for expanding the impact of the Marketing Tech stack and influencing the greater Toast Operations strategy to define the future of Toast tool innovation across the customer journey. The ideal candidate will have experience implementing large scale technology (Marketing Automation and Customer Data Platform Technologies), a track record of building and scaling technology, teams and initiatives and is an expert at collaborating and influencing cross functionally.

About this roll* (Responsibilities) 

  • Work with Marketing Leadership, Central Operations and the Marketing Operations (MOPs) team to create a multi-year roadmap for technology investment establishing Marketing Operations at the starting point for GTM strategy and innovation.
  • Build, develop and retain a diverse and inclusive team to expertly execute on roadmap ensuring a variety of MOPs team members are the drivers or visible contributors of key initiatives.
  • Establish yourself and MOPs team as key stakeholders in centralized and decentralized operations team’s roadmaps
  • Support MOPs team in creating best in class tech stack management, center of excellence frameworks, and marketing enablement programs to scale a decentralized model
  • Establish frameworks to streamline ambiguous organizational change and new initiative development including acquisitions, setting up new verticals, or market expansion. 
  • Work cross functionally with technical leaders across Web/dev, Centralized Operations, Business Systems, and Business Intelligence to prioritize, execute and unblock key initiatives.
  • Support team in their mission to maintain data within Marketing systems with an eye on database growth, contact and account enrichment, data governance, and quality, as well as vigilant attention to data security and compliance.

 

Do you have the right ingredients*? (Requirements)

 

  • Expertise in Marketing Operations and Demand Generation including
    • Program ownership experience with a focus on demand generation, upsell or cross sell with measurable impact
    • Leading a Marketing Operations function
    • Experience in a non-Marketing Operations function
  • Track record of developing leaders and creating robust growth paths for teams
  • Strong proficiency with system integration principles, experience troubleshooting points of system failure
  • Experience working with Customer Data Platform Technologies (e.g. Segment, mParticle, Tealium)
  • Demonstrated expertise in database structures and data transfer methods (e.g. ETL, API)
  • Hands-on experience with SFDC, Drift, and 2-3 other deeply integrated marketing/sales technologies
  • Demonstrated expertise in multi-channel marketing and understanding of compliance considerations for each (CAN-SPAM, double opt-ins, etc)
  • Proven experience creating business cases and influencing product roadmaps

SPECIAL SAUCE: (Nonessential Skills/Nice to Haves)

  • Certified Marketo Champion
  • Experience with SiriusDecisions and / or Agile Marketing is a plus
  • Strong analytical skills and experience with data analysis. Looker experience is a plus.
  • Experience working with product and engineering teams on executing a development roadmap
