The partnerships team is responsible for the end-to-end development and deployment of Toast’s partnership strategy. This includes working closely with our product and sales teams to develop strategy, scoping potential partnerships and negotiating contracts, developing relationships with external and internal parties, and executing the deployment and ongoing growth of mutually beneficial partnerships across a cross-functional team. The team manages Toast’s broad portfolio of channel (lead-gen) and product-focused (integration) partners. 

 

We are looking for a Director of Partnership Operations to join the team. You will have experience building operational processes to support the full lifecycle of partnerships from funnel management and evaluation, to revenue share collection and payouts. This is an exciting new position with high visibility and impact across senior leadership at the company. 

 

About this roll* (Responsibilities) 

  • Act as a player coach to manage and develop a high-performing team to scale our partner operations in the context of rapid growth.  
  • Develop the strategy and roadmap for partner operations improvements.
  • Oversee the processes to provide accurate and timely payments from Toast to our partners and to invoice, collect, and audit payments from Toast partners.
  • Work alongside the partnerships team to create incentive structures that drive performance and are easy to operationalize.
  • Own the usage, maintenance, and improvement of a Partner Relationship Management (PRM) system.
  • Drive evaluation, decision-making, and implementation of new tools to support the broad Toast partner ecosystem.
  • Drive systems improvements to better understand partner referrals. 
  • Work with cross-functional teams across Central Operations, Marketing Operations, Systems, Business Intelligence, Sales, Finance, and others to ensure the success of partnerships.

 

Do you have the right ingredients*? (Requirements)

  • Experience with Operations or Systems at a high-growth company, investment firm,  or consulting firm.
  • Strong organizational skills – able to efficiently manage multiple projects and priorities and experience with project management methodologies.
  • Highly entrepreneurial and comfortable working in a fast-paced environment with the ability to thrive under minimal guidance.
  • Relentless focus on metrics to prioritize initiatives, drive accountability, and measure the impact of process improvement and automation efforts.
  • Empathy and communication skills – able to drive collaboration, motivate, and influence key business leaders and peers.
  • Bachelor's degree in a  business-related field.
  • Proficient with MS Excel, MS Powerpoint, Google Suite, Salesforce, and BI tools.

  • Deep understanding of restaurants and/or the restaurant technology space.
  • Experience with PRM (Partner Relationship Management) tools
  • Experience working with partners and building partner ecosystems
